Life in Kawakawa Bay
I have lived in Kawakawa Bay for the last 35 years on a local farm. Over this time I have worked at the Kawakawa Bay-Orere Health Clinic and also Middlemore Hospital, specialising in Surgical and Orthopedics.
Working in our community
The thing I love about living and working in a small community is knowing most of you. I am vaccinating children of the children I vaccinated 30 years ago!!
Nursing in Nepal
My most challenging nursing was in a remote health post in Nepal. The language barrier was a huge part of it but also the shortage of materials and equipment. People trekked up to 4 hours to access care. For all of New Zealand’s faults and delays, this experience makes me truly appreciate NZ Heath Care System.
